Searching Files

Searching (Easy)

To search your DealerDOCX site put in a search term at the top of the page in the search bar. Our system has an OCR engine built into it, so when you search the system will bring up anything with your search term in the filename or in the contents of the document. More specific searches will yield more refined results. You can search for anything that may appear in a deal jacket, repair order, etc.

Here are some examples of searches:
  1. Deal Jackets: Stock Number or Deal Number
  2. Repair Order: Repair Order #
  3. Part Ticket: Part Ticket #

Searching (Advanced)

To search for the name of someone in the system or by the VIN number of the car, use the following search functionality:
  1. Quotations: Put quotes around a name to search for a customer, service advisor, etc. Otherwise, it will search for the name separately. Example: "John Smith"
  2. Wild Card: A wild card is just a search using an asterisk. If you put an asterisk in the front or back of a phrase, it will search every combination of words or numbers that could appear before or after a name. This is handy when searching for a VIN. Example: *123456
